Damn… I do alright at picking out songs for mixes, but I SUCK at putting them in any kind of cohesive order.

It’s a decidedly low-key mix compared to most, that I make with driving in mind.  I picked out 43 songs, which I had to condense to something that would fit on a CD.  For now you get an unordered list of those that didn’t make the cut:

Well, folks, the day is almost upon us.  It seemed like it would never get here, but we’re about to wake up from an eight year nightmare and move forward, and I for one cannot wait.

I’m going to bed early because I’ve got a big day tomorrow (which, unfortunately, begins with work), as a lot of you do.  I probably won’t be able to keep up too well for most of the day due to work and a brief round of visibility after that, but I plan to be out for most of the evening watching the returns – whether that happens at Belcourt, The Cannery Ballroom, Obama HQ, The Flying Saucer or points unknown is still up in the air (well, Tatieface is trying to commandeer the plans so that we have to go to this dude’s office and watch, but I’ve had my heart set on Belcourt all along), but I hope to be running into people.

Thanks to my sweet new phone, I’ll be incredibly accessible, and I may also be accompanied by Dusty Farlow the MacBook (yes, it has a name), since I’m a nerd.

Now I’ll get back to the whole reason I started this post – the playlist.  I think it’s done.  I’ll let you in on a secret: my brain is too fried for much more thought, so I just kind of randomly moved the songs around.  They’re [obviously] in no well-planned order.  Anyway, wannahearithereitgo:

Mostly due to the excellent suggestions left in the comments on the last post about this, I’ve amassed a good chunk of songs for my election playlist.  I’m trying to follow the mix “rule” of not including more than one song by the same artist which can lead to some tough decisions – particularly with Springsteen.  I’m still taking suggestions via my comments (Election Day is close, but it’s not here yet!), and you’re also more than welcome to make an argument if you can think of a better song by one of the artists I’ve already got – or, even better still, a good cover of said song.
