It’s still not real to me that we are just hours away from the end of Bush’s presidency, which will be like waking up from an eight year national nightmare. Bush has been in office for most of my adult life, with my first voting experience ending in disappointment (not to mention about 35 days of total confusion). I am looking forward to this change.
Barack Obama is just a man*, but if he can make good on just half of the hopes we’ve pinned on him, he’ll be a success. Tomorrow’s a day for celebration, but I hope that he gets to work on Wednesday and makes good on the promise of change.
*I do, however, believe that he will travel to the White House on a magical unicorn galloping on a rainbow.
