The fucking season draws to a fucking close. Fuck.
MOTHERFUCKERS!!!! FUCK.
EDITED TO ADD: Peeps from Twitter, please take a moment to appreciate that I do my best to hold back on the language that comes so naturally to me over there (most of the time), but you’re in my house now! I’m also still too upset to put my anger into intelligent sentences.
Picture Day
I hate having my picture taken. I always look goofy or fat or scary. However, today was picture day at the Sommet Center, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have my picture taken – in the penalty box, with Gnash, by the Zamboni, in front of a net and on the Predators bench.
The full set can be seen here, but here are my two favorites:
Protected: Smog will get you pretty soon
Oh I’ve got a live one here!
I shot this last Monday. It’s blurry, but whatever. I’m no cinematographer.
Analysis
In-depth analysis of tonight’s shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks in the form of an IM between Dr. Frankenfurter and myself (she’s the Radulov/Weber icon and I’m Obama):
Rankin Inlet
I was just perusing the blog stats and noticed I got a hit from someone in Rankin Inlet this morning. So if that person comes back, I want to extend a giant thank you from my town to yours for the contribution your town has made to sports in Nashville! If there’s anything we love here in Nashvegas, it’s Jordin Tootoo.
Hockey hates Palin
Amazing. Flyers fans have now ingratiated themselves to me. I’m sure a lot has been/will be said about the fans not being classy, but let’s face it – you’d boo, too.
Apparently there was a sign at the Preds game last night that said “I can see Radulov from my house” with a caricature of Palin – it was in between periods, so I missed it, but I’m trying to track down a picture.
Anyway, here’s the video (check out the thumbs-down and Obama/Biden sign in the background). Love it!

Edited to add: I’ve gotta give Palin props for the cute coat, though. Let it never be said that I haven’t said something nice about the woman.
The Boys Are Back in Town
For my lunch break today, Dr. Frankenfurter and another coworker and I went to SportsPlex to watch our boys practice. This as well as pre-game skates are my time for appreciating the aesthetic value of our team (I’d better not hear “puck bunny” out of anyone), but game time is GAME TIME. Anyway, it was today that I realized that I really ought to have Dan Ellis’ babies. On the left is a picture I took of him (with diminutive goaltending coach Mitch Korn) – click it and it will take you to the small set of pictures I took at practice.
Below you’ll find some pictures that circulated in e-mails around the office when we got back.
Stay tuned for a somewhat related Feel Good Friday post…
*I don’t have a source on these pictures – they were in an e-mail.
